Lucky Lips

En sus primeros años de existencia, Atlantic Records era conocida como “the House That Ruth Built”, en alusión a la importancia que tuvo para la compañía de Ahmet Ertegun la docena y media de singles de éxito que tuvo Ruth Brown desde finales de los 40's hasta finales de los 50's. 

Miss Rhythm, el apelativo que se ganó Ruth Brown en aquella época, tenía una voz poderosa y con mucho Swing, y grabó algunos de los mejores temas de R&B de la época, añadiendo toques de Pop y de Rock 'N' Roll a sus canciones. Little Richard era uno de sus más famosos admiradores.

Lucky Lips, escrita por Leiber and Stoller, fue uno de sus mayores éxitos, triunfando no solo en la lista de R&B sino también en la lista de canciones Pop:
